Bubba Ho-Tep (2002)
I'm usually suspicious of movies that are made with 'cult-status' in mind. Often they try too hard and produce too little. Bubba Ho-Tep is a rare exception for three reasons: 1) Bruce Campbell. 2) Ossie Davis. 3) The characters have souls.
Amazingly, the producers remembered that good writing is an excellent way to compensate for a lack of budget, something that most 'b' movies these days gleefully ignore. Although I believe it's actually adapted from a short story... so yeah, modern screenwriters still suck balls.

Schrodinger's Girl - 2008
If you've seen the trailer, then you know as much as I do. Indie Sci Fi British possible apocalypse regarding altered wave-forms and, presumably, electron values. Could this be hard SF? Maybe. Hard to tell from the trailer, but there's so little hard SF in film that it's worthwhile to check it out when it pops up. Cheers.

Los Angeles gangsta cop sagas are slowly replacing those New York mafia movies from back in the day, 2 more movies like this and it will officially be a genre. Crooked cops...what more can I say? I guess this is suppose to be more of a revenge story (you killed my partner, the law doesn't matter anymore, blah,blah,blah...) But still, that doesn't mean Keanu Reeves can go around harassing the Black and Hispanic communities of L.A.

Samurai Cop - 1989
Here's hopefully the only time this will ever happen: IMDB doesn't allow embedding of their trailers, or if they do it's not very easy to figure out how to do it. Holy shit. Samurai Cop. What can I say about this movie that the trailer doesn't immediately fucking tell you? I know that it's terrible and unrelentingly awesome all at the same time. It's about a cop who's a samurai. This doesn't even need a plot. Samurai Cop goes around killing bad guys who burn his girlfriend with bacon grease, that's the only plot you need to know. This trailer must have been part of a Joe Bob Briggs collection, but it's the only one I could find, so you're stuck with it.
