Santo: Infraterrestre - 2001

Holy shit, 2001? I'm as surprised as you are that those effects were allowed to get past quality control in the new millenium. Still, it's a Santo film, sort of (Hijo del Santo), and that equals awesome.

The Explorers - 1985

No, it's not a trailer, unfortunately. It's a seven minute section of the actual film but is pretty accurate to what the rest of the movie is like. Directed by Joe 'Gremlins 2' Dante and intended apparently to ruin the minds of children, just like everything else Joe Dante directed. Featuring River Phoenix and Ethan Hawke in the roles that led to their eventual drug-related deaths (Ethan Hawke's is still coming up).

This post might, on the surface, seem like an appeal to fans of eighties comedies and Kim Basinger, but it's not. It's actually for Buffy fans, as this movie features both Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green, who, of course, later worked together as Willow and Oz, possibly the best coupling on the show. (I know, you're gonna say Angel and Buffy's romance was epic, but, whatever; she's a witch and he's a werewolf. It's awesome). There's other stuff to, but that's what's important about this movie to me.

The Faculty - 1998

Yeah, so this trailer actually has footage from Scream, Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn before it even attempts to get to the trailer for the Faculty. Were they afraid that seeing a bunch of kids murder their alien teachers wouldn't pack enough punch? Everything about the plot description of this movie is totally teenage ass-kickery. I mean, it's about kids who get high to prove they're not body-snatched and then go on an ill fated killing spree. Did somebody think that wasn't enough? Really?

Meatballs II - 1984

Meatballs: A story about some dudes trying to get laid at summer camp.

Meatballs II: A story about a girl whose never seen a 'dork' before and how her friends banded together that she might put some eyes on her first real life penis. Also an alien shows up, some twelve year old kids try to save the camp, a side-story featuring a homophobic military commander and his base of lisping soldiers and a handful of other completely nonsensical things.

Holy shit, Nightbeast. I wish I could take credit for finding this, but I pulled it from a forum where someone had graciously left it to be watched, watched again and then watched a third and final time before wrapping my head completely around it. I just couldn't stop laughing. This is definitely in the top ten trailers on this blog.

Brain Dead - 2008

It's official: Demonic possession totally rules. This trailer was found accidentally while seeking a Witchboard trailer, and praise be to awful, because this trailer fucking rules. About halfway through Kevin Tenney, the director of Witchboard, pretty much just shoves his dick into your brain and laughs in your face. Seriously, brainpunching demonic zombism alien mind control? Yeah, seriously.

There have been numerous times when I have tried describing this movie to people at parties while I was under the influence. Unfortunately I was never able to remember the name of this cinematic phantom from my childhood long forgotten so I would call it " That movie where people get sucked underground and have their brains switched by those giant meat-ball things"
Sadly, nobody knew what the fuck I was talking about and dismissed my drunken rant as some straight to DVD sequel of TREMORS or concluded that I was making it up for some twisted form of attention. Well I finally found the trailer. The movie is real and not a figment of my imagination. Dre wins.
P.S.-It's also directed by Tobe Hooper ( Texas Chainsaw Massacre ) So I jus' got bonus points for seeing it before I turned 12. oh snap!

Critters 2-THE MAIN COURSE-1988

This movie is so emotionally confusing to watch. One minute your laughing you're ass off, then the next you're trying to hold back tears because the Easter Bunny jus' jumped through a church window with blood spilling out the side of his mouth.

This is basically how the whole movie plays out.

Fantastic Planet-1973

One of my favorite movies of all time! I saw this when I was 16 and haven't been the same since. This was also the movie Jenifer Lopez was watching in THE CELL while she was smoking that joint.

Continuing with the theme of fey white people, I present you UHF. In this cult classic, 'Weird Al' Yankovic commandeers a TV station his Uncle won in a poker game and quickly shapes it into a factory of win. Hilarious faux-shows include Gandhi II, Raul's Wild Kingdom, and Conan the Librarian. FACT: this movie launched the career of legendary bigot Michael Richards, aka Seinfeld's 'Kramer.'
