Special Needs - 2006

If Troma was a woman, I would heave myself atop her haggard, corpulent form and spread my line by spraying the inner lining of her cavernous vagina with my vicious seed. I don't care how ugly, ill tempered and unmannered, I would make to her the sweetest love known to man followed by an equitable open sore puke fest. And I would pull it all off with a smile on my face.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - 2008

Could Kevin Smith come back from the depths of boredom and actually present something funny - and not in that 'fucking a donkey' kind of way? This movie actually looks pretty funny, despite the fact that it's being spearheaded by a catastrophically bad decision making director.

Back to School - 1986

Yes, Rodney Dangerfield. Yes Robert Downey Jr. Yes, Triple Lindy. Yes, this is one of the finest films made in the year 1986. Rodney Dangerfield goes back to school with his son to teach him a lesson, cheat on his English paper by hiring Kurt Vonnegut to write about himself and lay a professor while avoiding academic suspension, throwing massive parties and making fun of Robert Downey Jr's ultra lame nerd character. Oh, did I mention he pulls out the finishing sports finale by doing an impossible dive that requires three (yes, three!) diving boards? Because he does. Plus Oingo Boingo:

Meatballs II - 1984

Meatballs: A story about some dudes trying to get laid at summer camp.

Meatballs II: A story about a girl whose never seen a 'dork' before and how her friends banded together that she might put some eyes on her first real life penis. Also an alien shows up, some twelve year old kids try to save the camp, a side-story featuring a homophobic military commander and his base of lisping soldiers and a handful of other completely nonsensical things.

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure - 1985

The trail gets a little more awesome right about here... Two years after starring in Valley Girl, Elizabeth (EG) Daily finds herself playing Dottie in an early Tim Burton masterpiece. After that she pretty much did the voice of some character in every animated television show or movie made in the US or Canada, while occasionally acting. She went to high school with Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie, also, which isn't a thread that I'm willing to follow up on in this blog.

Real Genius - 1985

What I like best about this trailer is the ominous first ten or so seconds, which appear to be the lead-in to a campy zombie film. Seriously though, this should be a cultural touchstone for anyone who likes to make references to movies that only one other person in any given social setting have seen. It's worth mentioning that the writer of this movie has been involved with every single Police Academy film and the ill-fated, short-lived television series.

Smiley Face {Victory Lap Edition} - 2007

From Gregg Araki, whose last movie was a disturbing tale of two boy who were molested by their baseball coach: A comedy about Anna Faris being really, really stoned.

UHF (1989)

Continuing with the theme of fey white people, I present you UHF. In this cult classic, 'Weird Al' Yankovic commandeers a TV station his Uncle won in a poker game and quickly shapes it into a factory of win. Hilarious faux-shows include Gandhi II, Raul's Wild Kingdom, and Conan the Librarian. FACT: this movie launched the career of legendary bigot Michael Richards, aka Seinfeld's 'Kramer.'
